Vocational & Job Fair

Venue – Divisional Secretariat Office – Karandeniya

Date – 24/ 11/ 2022

Time – 9.30am to 3.30pm

During the first planning of this program, a group of institute officials and the youth group had a discussion at Sesatha where it was proposed to carry out this program based on the Karandeniya area.

Later, as the second discussion, as a result of the discussion with the Divisional secretary of the Karandeniya Divisional secretary Office, they expressed their willingness to do this in the office premises and to give their contribution. Later, several rounds of discussions were held with the government officers of the Karandeniya Divisional secretary Office for the planning of the program. With the idea that it is more appropriate to focus on job opportunities as well as vocational training, this program was planned as a vocational training and job fair.

About 500 youth and adults participated in the program and the participants also got opportunities through this vocational training and job fair. The participation of our youth group participated very actively.

After this program, at the request of the youth group, an awareness program about foreign jobs were planned, in which the participation of the youth group as well as the adult mentors’ group was special. There, the current foreign employment opportunities and how to apply for them, as well as the qualifications to be provided in those applications were discussed. Our team was very actively involved with that program and now several of them have started working with some foreign employment programs.
